Marie Ruth Pippus

Marie Ruth Pippus of Turner Valley, Alberta passed away suddenly from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) at the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic on Monday, February 10, 2014. Marie was born in Merritt, B.C. on November 26, 1935. Mom was a caring loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She leaves behind her daughter, Laura (Danny); sons, Doug (Belinda), James (Sandy), Ric (Patricia) all of Calgary and son, Michael of Abbotsford, B.C.; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Phillis Wiens from Abbotsford and brothers, George from Medicine Hat, and Bob Evans from St. Lawrence Town, Nova Scotia as well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Marie was predeceased by her loving husband, Vern Pippus and parents, Arthur and Ruth Evans. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic for their care and compassion. Donations may be made in Marie’s memory to Alberta Cancer Foundation, c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 - 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 4N2. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #78 - 121 Sunset Blvd. East, Turner Valley. Following the Service, please join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshments at Valley Neighbours Club – 133 Sunset Blvd. SW, Turner Valley.
