Judy Lynn Rutschmann
March 7th, 2014
It is with the deepest sadness the family and friends of Judy must say goodbye. On February 13, Judy suffered an extensive stroke while vacationing in Jamaica and later passed away at the Calgary Foothills Hospital on March 7, 2014 at the age of 49 years. Left behind to mourn Judy’s loss are her children, Trevor (Melody) and Terynn; sister, Lori Noble (Brian); and companion, Eric Brooks. Judy is also survived by several loving uncles, aunts and cousins. Judy was predeceased by her parents, Neil and Shirley Aitchison; and her paternal and materal grandparents. Judy was born on August 21, 1964 in Lethbridge, Alberta, she graduated from Winston Churchill High School and the Lethbridge Community College with an Early Childhood Education Certificate. In her youth, Judy excelled at sports such as gymnastics, track & field and volleyball. Judy loved travelling to warm destinations such as Florida and Mexico with her children and sister; then later to Jamaica with Eric. Judy moved to Airdrie in 1991, and persued her career in Early Childhood Education working for Airdrie Family Services/Community Links. There she quickly developed a wonderful extended family who affectionately remember Judy as a practical jokester and the person to always plan special events and surprise birthday celebrations for her colleagues. Judy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2002 and the last few years, she began to struggle with its physical challenges. A private family Celebration of Judy’s Life will he held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the Lethbridge & District MS Society, 725 – 13 Street N., Lethbridge, Alberta, T1H 2T1.

Lori I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know how closely you and Judy have been. This is when I wish we hadn't lost touch and that I had your proper contact info. I left you a message on what I hope is your home phone number. Please give me a call when you are able. Hi to Brian. Love Darla 480-363-7737 darlacooke@gmail.com
I am so saddened to hear of Judy's passing, and send you, Lori, and her children my sincere sympathy. She was a great next-door neighbour, and also babysitter, in the 70s and 80s.
Deepest condolences from Neil, Jason, and Amber. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time.
Our deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers for Judy's family in this time of loss
Dear Trevor, Terynn, Lori and Brian Although I am unable to attend Judy's service, please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. She was an amazing mom and sister and she was always so proud of all of you. I was lucky to have known her and share in her love of life and laughter. She will be missed by her extended family in Jaffray. Thinking of all of you Cindy, Fritz, Mikolai and Tyson
Our hearts and prayers go out to Judy's family and friends. Judy will be deeply missed. Community Links is so very fortunate to have known Judy. We will remember her kind spirit, laughter, smile and loving nature.
Our deepest sympathy and biggest hugs to Trevor and Terynn. Your Mom was such an example to us! She stood tall and tried not to let the challenges life threw at her get her down, I had talked to her recently and she was so poud of you two! Our love and prayers are with you and for you! just remember the good times!!
When Judy told me in 2002 of her MS diagnosis she said that it would not hold her back or hold her down! I admired her so very much for her conviction and determination to beating MS. Her love of her children and great sense of humour made her a person that you would seek out. We worked together on many Child Care committees and associations. I will remember her fondly and may the many memories she left us all help ease this very difficult time. Judy will be dearly missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time due to the loss of Judy. I worked with her at AFS/Community Links. Judy was a very cheerful person; I loved to hear her stories and laugher!
Dear Lori, Terynn and Trevor: I can't believe that it has been two years since the passing of your sister and mother. She is missed by our family, and will never be forgotten. The echos of her laughter can still be heard at Rosen Lake. We were truly blessed by having had the honour of spending time with her. Fritz, Cindy, Tyson, and Mikolai
