The family of Allen E. Stevens announces his passing, during the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the age of 84 years at Rocky View General Hospital in Calgary, AB with his spouse, Judy Palendat at his side.
Dad was born January 5, 1930 in Morden Hospital. He spent his school years and youth growing up in Darlingford, MB. He loved people and had a variety of careers and jobs that allowed him to travel, meeting with many interesting characters far and wide.
Dad looked forward to weekly activities at the Crossfield Senior Centre. He enjoyed playing cards and was always up for a good competitive game of crib wars.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Greg, Gloria Wiklund, Bob and Barry and their mother, Jean Stevens; grandchildren, Richard Stevens, Candace (Cameron) Mutimer, Dan (Melody) Wiklund, Bill (Nicole) Wiklund, Lora (Trevor) Murdy, and Jeff (Kyla) Stevens; great grandchildren, Randie, Abby, Lyndon, Hudson and Elizabeth; his sisters, Bea Maxwell and Eva McClay; and by Judy’s family.
Allen was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Bonnie-Kae; brother and sister-in-law, Everett and Ann Stevens; brothers-in-law, Stan Maxwell and Alvin McClay; son-in-law, Les Wiklund; and daughter-in-law, Lil Stevens. According to his wishes, interment will be held in Darlingford Cemetery, MB at a later date.
To the Family of Allen I was a good friend to Allen and will miss his big hugs and phone calls. We both liked to give our gifts to each other of cherry chocolates...I had already bought his for Christmas so I will have to have one everyday and cheer him when I am having it.
