George Campion passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the age of 93 years. He is lovingly remembered by his family and friends. George was born in Hanna, AB on June 22, 1922, where he spent his childhood  on the farm. George enlisted in the Army Service Corps in 1939 where he served overseas in Europe during WWII. Upon his return, George joined CN Rail where he worked for 37 years as a locomotive engineer. Throughout his life, George enjoyed fishing, hunting trips and travelling to warm destinations. He also enjoyed his years of retirement, living in Riverbend, where he spent time playing pool, crib and enjoying the view of Carburn Park.

A Come & Go Tea for George will be held at Riverbend Community Centre, 19 Rivervalley Drive SE, Calgary, AB on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm with a tribute being read at 2:00 pm. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Chinook Hospice, staff, nurses, and doctors of the Calgary Health Region.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in George’s memory may be made to the Calgary Poppy Fund & Veteran’s Food Bank, #1, 4539 – 6 Street NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 3Z6.

We are saddened to hear of George's passing. He was a gentlemen's gentleman, loved to hear his stories about his CN train days. Our sympathies and thoughts to his family. Love Morley and Susan

George will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for his kindness. He lived a great life to the age of 93 and is in a better place.

Jim and I met George thought Jerry and Elma DeLeeuw. George was always a pleasure to visit with and will be missed. Our condolence to his family.
