He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary and sister Josephine. “Grandpa” Spud took keen interest in his family, whether it be repairing a grandchild’s vehicle or maintaining family and friend’s furnaces. Spud’s love of music was seen through his many years with “Bobby Hoy and the Badlanders” or music business that he had for many years. His accordion skills filled many community halls throughout the years. Spud was known for his famous smile and could always be found at Walmart or McDonalds every day. During the summer months, Spud spent his days at the golf course. The month of November was spent traveling the back roads of Dalum searching for the elusive deer.
Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa…
Missed terribly…Never forgot
Love your family

Eileen and family. We were so sorry to here of Spud's passing. We will always remember our little visits with him, where ever around Drumheller. During hunting season he would usually stop once or twice at the farm to have a little visit and discuss with Kaj, how hunting was going. Our thoughts are with the family at this time. Kaj and Doreen Guldberg

Eileen and family, I'm very sorry to hear that Spud has passed away. I fondly remember his smiling eyes and the friendly chats whenever I'd see the two of you at Walmart or Co-op. I will think of him often as I play my keyboard I got from him over two decades ago. He's the kind of man who will be deeply missed. I'm sure he left many memories that make you smile. Sincere condolences to all of the family. - Linda Gerlinger
