Donald Burton Peach
September 8th, 2015
Don Peach was born to Howard and Shirley Peach on June 30, 1943 and passed away at the Willow Creek Auxiliary Hospital on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015 at the age of 72 due to cirrhosis of the liver. He was a very hard worker and had a wonderful sense of humor. His working life included positions as a farmer, trucker, contractor, woodsman as well as working in Sexsmith, AB at NARP and the Gypsum Company in Hantsport, Nova Scotia. Don retired from the Gypsum Company in 1990 due to a degenerative disease in his legs and arms. He was a very giving and social person. He was always willing to help where ever he could, whether it be helping to build the interior of the museum or helping someone around their house. Don could be found moving lawns, shoveling snow, helping a person move, or cleaning up a yard, whatever was needed he was happy to help.
Don was married to Jo-Ann Pridmore on January 30, 1970 and they had 2 children; Elizabeth Alice Rogelstad married to Mike and living in Calgary Alberta; Lorne Howard Peach married to Crystal Deveau and living in North Alton, Nova Scotia. They have 4 grandchildren, Tamara Adele Rogelstad, Christopher Lorne Peach, Abigail Dawn Peach, and Joshua Lorne Peach. Don will be greatly missed by all.
The funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Claresholm on September 19th, 2015 at 11:00 am. NO FLOWERS PLEASE due to family sensitivities. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humanitarian Fund at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or Claresholm General Hospital.
Messages:
I will miss Donald's phone calls on our birthday. I hope the family are managing ok. Thinking of you all at this sad time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as a family. It was always such a pleasure to be in Don's company. He was a kind, thoughtful, and generous man. Although it has been a long time since he left Nova Scotia he will always be remembered with fondness. Greg and Sandra
Dear Jo-Anne, Beth, Lorne and Families; Much Love and prayer to you at this time. Uncle Don was quirky. (best way for me to describe him) I remember him doing things to make us laugh, like wear his hat sideways or talk like Donald Duck. His big smile that crinkled his eyes. And that he always kept a buzzed hair cut. (I remember asking him why he wore his hair that way one time at Nanny and Grampy's house) Memories live on in our hearts forever. Love Ashley (Munroe) Greenough
Sorry to hear about Don, Jo-Ann. He was certainly a very social person and will be missed by many. He often spoke to me at the post office where we reminisced about Larry and Oscar. Again my condolences to you and the family. Myrna
