December 27th, 2015
SCHARMIN, Ronald “Ron” Adrian
1959 – 2015
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ron Scharmin in his 56th year, on Sunday, December 27, 2015 in Calgary, Alberta, after a lengthy battle with liver disease/cancer. Ron was born in Wallaceburg, Ontario to Gilbert Scharmin and the late Maria (Deschoemaker) Scharmin.
Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna Parker; stepchildren, Robert McCarthy and Kelly McCarthy; father, Gilbert (Doris) Scharmin; stepbrothers, Rod (Carolyn) Gallerno, Lonnie (Sue) Gallerno and Dale (Cindy) Gallerno; in laws, Gary (Bonnie) Parker, Alvin (Pat) Parker, Ernie (Peggy) Parker, Karen (Ernie) Parker, Norine ( Pete) Roussain, Terry (Karen) Parker, Joe Parker and Wayne Loubert; as well he will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by Gloria Loubert; and by sister-in-law, Carolyn Parker.
Ron was an active fisherman, hunter, photographer, woodcarver and competitive archer in his early years. After his stroke, Ron still continued to do some fishing and fly tying along with his photography. It would be rare to not see Ron taking pictures wherever he was. Ron had a deep love for his pets over the years, too many to name, but his most recent pets are Ziggy, Dexter, Honey, Dusty, Coco, Odie and Oliver within the last 10 years.
Special thank you to the family members who travelled long distances to see Ron before his final journey. And finally, a very special thank you to the entire hospice staff at Southwood Hospice for your exemplary care that you showed Ron and his family. It brought comfort knowing he was being well cared for.
No Formal Service will be held and cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to:
