Messages:

Jan, I came across Les’ obit while searching for you. Although I’m years late, hope you are well. Perhaps we could catch up some day.

I am so sorry for your loss - and the loss to all of us. Les lived large and with gusto. Les had a joyous ability to turn activities into celebrations. Whether a meal, house party, concert or fireworks display, he made the time together shine a little brighter and feel like a special occassion. He welcomed me into his long-standing circle of friends with his huge smile and intense gaze, and I always looked forward to chanced to see him. Our world is dimmer with his passing. My sincere condolences, Pat

Jan On behalf of all the Paddy family here in the UK, we send our deepest sympathies to you and all the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. With our Love. Mike & Pam

Dear Jan & family: We were saddened to hear of the loss of the 'love of your life', Les when we returned to Calgary last week. When we think of Les, we of course immediately think of his wonderful smile and twinkling eyes, and then we think of the fun times we had 'dancing' and 'singing' in past years. We will pray for you and your loved ones and hope that your many happy memories will see you through this most difficult time. Doug & Simonne Birrell

I have just received this oh so sad message. I first met Janet and Les in 1968, such a wonderful couple. My late husband and I welcomed them to Mt. Maunganui a few years ago and had a wonderful time. They then gave us a lovely holiday when visiting Calgary in 2000. So many fabulous memories of our friendship, and my thoughts and love are with you Jan at this very sad time. I just wish I could be there with you. Love n hugs Val

Every time I met Les he had a smile on his face and there it is again in his picture. There are so many fun and cherished memories of Les for me and for my family as Les was there for the occasions that spoke of family. It is heartbreaking to know we will have to continue the party without his presence. My heart aches for you, Jan, and your family. Les is worth the many tears. Sending love your way. Hillery and Ella May

To Janet and Family: I worked with Les at Lecky Paper over 40 years ago. I remember Les fondly as a very smart, funny man who made coming to work each day a pleasure. I also remember he was probably the most faithful fan the Calgary Stampeders football team had. I hope your wonderful memories of Les will sustain you through this time of sorrow.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Les was so well respected in our industry. Will be missed

I will miss his wry humour. Julien

Jan, so sorry to hear about Les. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May all the good memories comfort you in this time of such sorrow! Hugs!

Deepest sympathies as you deal with the death of your beloved husband, father and grandfather. Find comfort in each other and the memories you all share. My thoughts and prayers are with you at a most difficult time in your lives. Love, Mavor, Kathy and Bills
