CASEBEER, Erika Christa Amalie
January 3, 1929 ~ August 18. 2016
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Erika Casebeer at the Olds Hospital. Erika immigrated to Alberta from Germany in 1955, and married Louis Casebeer in 1956. They raised three children on the Casebeer family farm near Morrin, then moved to Drumheller, and later to Didsbury. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Marino and family Reasha, Sarren, Jessi, Shiri, Judy (Pierre) Martel and family Justin, Tamara, Aaron, and Eric (Crystal) and son Cody; sister-in-law, Marjorie (Ralph) Cosens, along with nieces and nephews in Germany, Alberta, and Oregon. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis (in 2003), as well as her parents, two sisters and two nieces in Germany. Along with being a hardworking farmers wife, she worked at the Drumheller Co-op Cafeteria, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Everyone will remember her for her homemade soups, German baking, and amazing gardening skills. Although unable to attend, she was extremely proud of her first grandchild’s wedding in New Hampshire of Tamara to Joshua Breau last year, and was hoping to be around for many more. A funeral will not be held per Erika’s wishes, with burial at a later date in the Morrin Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice or any involving animals or children which brought great joy in Erika’s life.
Messages:
Condolences to the family. Your mother worked for years with my mother, Madge Contenti at the COOP. I remember Erica giving me a lot of extra fries with a big smile on her face. I too will always remember your mother's smile and happy nature. Wanda (Chambers) Contenti
