It is with heavy hearts the family of Roger Solomon Kitchen of Airdrie, AB announce his passing on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the age of 68 years after a short battle with brain cancer. Left to mourn are his partner of 26 years, Marjory Hume; his sons, Rodney (son, Austin), Randy (Shantelle & family), Cory (Serena & family); stepchildren, Jennifer Hume (& family), Susan MacFarlane (Bill & family), Colin Hume (Heidi & family), and Stephen (Rhonda & family). As well left to mourn are his sister, Carol Anne Davenport  (Delbert & family); brother, Eric Kitchen (JoAnne & family) and many other family members. Roger was predeceased by his parents, James "Woody" Kitchen and Catherine (nee Lockhard) Kitchen; his brother, James Tedford (Ted) Kitchen; and infant sister, Eleanore.

A Celebration of Roger’s Life will be held at the Airdrie Town & Country Center, 275 Jensen Dr NE, Airdrie, AB on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roger's memory to the Chinook Hospice Facility (c/o Foundation for Senior’s Care), 1261 Glenmore Trail SW, Calgary, AB, T2V 4Y8 or the Canadian Legacy Project, #210, 1235 – 17 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB, T2T 0C2 in support of our veterans.

Our hearts and thoughts are with you all at this very sad time. I am sure you will find comfort in your memories of the times you spent with him.
