June Louise Little

November 28th, 2016

LITTLE, June Louise (nee McLeod)

It is with great sadness that the family of June announces her passing on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Evanston Grand Village in Calgary. June was born April 14, 1932 and raised on a farm in Carmangay, AB and came to Calgary with her husband and family in 1963. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Cindy (Garry) Burlingam, Murray (Darla) Little and Sharon Little; 4 grandchildren, Jinelle Little, Kaitlyn Milne, Chris Little and Garrad Burlingam; and 3 great grandchildren Evelyn Little, Bennett and Jacob Milne. June was predeceased by her husband, Duncan in October 2009. June attended nursing school at Galt Hospital in Lethbridge and continued her nursing career in Calgary at the Grace Hospital. June loved spending time with her dog (although not a fan of dog hair), golfing and sewing little party dresses for her granddaughters. During retirement, June and Dunc spent their summers in Waskesiu, SK and winters in Arizona. A Private Celebration of June’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Salvation Army.

Messages:

I worked with June at the Grace Hospital for many years. We always looked forward to seeing June when she was called to work. She had a unique personality and was so very entertaining. With sincere sympathy, Marion Marra.

We were so sorry to hear of June's passing. Our thoughts are with you all. Mom, Helen, has so many fond memories of June and Duncan.

Cindy, I am so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you, Garry and the kids.

I am so sorry to read about the death of June Little (née McLeod). Although I only met her on one occasion many years ago, she was a cousin my dad, Ron McLeod, knew well. He passed away four years ago. My husband, Fred Hunt, played hockey with Garry Berlingham, and when we met at a family reunion (not sure whose home, near Champion/Carmangay) all those years ago, we said we'd keep in touch. Unfortunately that did not happen. Perhaps when you are ready, we can reconnect with an email. Once again, our sincere condolences.

Our condolence to Cindy, Murray and Sharon and their families. June was our neighbour from the time we moved to our home on the same street. June was part of the "street ladies" bridge group during the years we played together. She was an excellent player.

So sorry to hear of your Mothers passing. We lost track of her after your Dad passed away. She was a lady with many talents. I was thinking of her just today as I was putting up a couple of the beautiful Christmas decorations she had made and given to me. Then I read the obituary. We enjoyed many rounds of golf and games of bridge with them, as well as lots of dinner parties. Bill and your Dad worked together at H B O G. May she rest in peace. Sincerely, Bill and Maxine

My condolences to Sharon and Junes' Family. Sharon, I believe Your Mom brought me to your home in Scenic Acres.?? I worked with June @ The Grace and we loved when she was on duty with us! She was a good nurse and so much fun to work with. We enjoyed many laughs!! Marion Marra & I went to visit her in Scenic Acres only once, and regret we did not go more often. She was a great Lady! Ferne Loewen.

Sending my sincere condolences to Sharon and all family on the loss of your beloved Mother and Grandmother. May you find strength and comfort in the memories and the knowledge that your Junebug is now resting peacefully. Hugs to all.

I recall working with June and under her guidance at Grace Hospital for many years. I can only imagine what a good and caring Mom she was and will be missed and remembered by her family with great memories.
