McKENZIE, Jeannette Louise

Jeannette Louise McKenzie passed away at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the age of 57 years. Since being diagnosed with lung cancer on September 14, 2015, Jenny, a non-smoker, battled valiantly but it quickly spread to the bones and the brain.

Jenny was born September 25, 1958 in Trail, BC and has lived in southern Alberta for the past 37 years. She has resided in Airdrie for 23 years. Jenny was employed for the past 6 years by Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts Ltd. She was also a member of the Woodside Golf Course for 20 years and enjoyed both the golf and the social events at the course.

Jenny is lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Pat; her sons, Timothy (Crystal) of Airdrie, and James of Calgary; grandson, Dugan of Airdrie; mother, Marie Gazda of Trail, BC; siblings, Paulette Gazda of North Vancouver, BC, Wayne Gazda (Carol) of Calgary, AB, Julie Bell (Neil) of Airdrie, AB,  Kevin Gazda (Lynn) of Calgary, AB, and Karen Gazda of Sooke, BC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Janice Lacoste of Kamloops, BC who has been there for Jenny for 40 years.

The family would like to thank the great staff members at both the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Dulcina Hospice for the loving care they showed to both Jenny and our family during this difficult time. A Celebration of Jenny’s Life was held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at The Greens at Woodside.
