Rita Mouser of Claresholm passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary where her entire family was blessed to be by her side.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Darlene Mouser (Calgary), Bev (Ken) Buckley (Calgary), Colleen (Mark) Benson (Tilley); 6 grandchildren, Greg, Eric, Jason and Carly Buckley, Leah and Alli Benson. She is predeceased by her brothers Earl and Lyle Oliver of Rosetown, Saskatchewan.
Rita was born on May 30, 1929 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, daughter of James and Janet Oliver. She was raised on her family farm and after graduating from Rosetown High School she attended St. Paul’s Hospital School of Nursing in Saskatoon, graduating as an RN in 1950. Her nursing career began in Lloydminster and then took her to Claresholm in 1952 where she nursed at the Claresholm Municipal Hospital. She met her lifelong partner Jim and in 1955 they were married and began their family life together. In 1967 they purchased their farm where they resided for 28 years and raised their 3 daughters. Through the years Rita nursed part-time and actively participated in the farming operation. Her family was always her first priority and she lovingly provided for them. Rita was an active member of the community and enjoyed giving her time to various boards and organizations. Her life enjoyments included curling, golfing, old time dancing, traveling and her involvement in the Claresholm United Church. In 1995 Jim and Rita retired to Claresholm where Rita continued to keep active. She formed many special relationships over the years playing the card games she thoroughly loved, especially bridge. Rita’s family feels blessed to have had many special years with her. She will be missed dearly by her children, their spouses and her grandchildren.
A Celebration of Rita’s Life will be held on Monday, April 04, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Claresholm United Church, Claresholm, AB.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Claresholm Health Foundation, PO Box 2638, Claresholm, AB, T0L 0T0 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

I have been a friend of Rita's for many years. We had many interests that we shared, bridge, gardening, etc. She will be sadly missed. Grace
