Ruby Jean Peters

Ruby Peters, beloved wife of the late Aaron Peters, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the age of 81. Ruby was born in Leask, Saskatchewan on January 14, 1935. Although the family moved to Creston, BC they eventually settled in Lethbridge, AB. Ruby met and married Aaron, enjoying 43 years of marriage. Ruby loved life and enjoyed time with her extended family. Her laugh was contagious and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to share a joke with her. Ruby lived a good life filled with fun, friends and laughter. Ruby is survived by her daughters, Linda (Allen) Fudge of Calgary and Sharon Peters; grandchildren, Marie (Scott) Kingma and David Fudge; great grandchildren, Rebekah and Joshua Kingma from Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Besides her loving husband, Aaron, Ruby was predeceased by her parents, Susannah and Avery Wallace; brother, Richard Wallace; and sisters, Bernice Wheeler and Dealia Wallace. Ruby’s son, Donnie Peters died October 13, 1999 . The loss of her “beautiful boy” was devastating to Ruby and she spoke of him often. A very special thank you goes to Ruby’s niece, Shelley Glass. She was Ruby’s devoted caregiver for over 13 years and was a very helpful, loving and caring person throughout that time. Ruby’s extended family cannot thank her enough for the gift of devotion she gave to Ruby.
A Funeral Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, 1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary, AB on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow. Flowers are gratefully declined.
