HILL, Norman Wilfred
Norman “Norm” Hill died in the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB on Sunday, June 4, 2017 after having a stroke due to a brain aneurysm. Norm was 64. Norm was born on November 24, 1952 in Monkland, ON. He attended Queen’s University in Kingston. Norm moved to Edmonton in 1975 and began his career with ADT Security, where he worked for the next 40 years. He held various positions and enjoyed being the training manager, making friends as he trained people across Canada. Norm had a great sense of humour even though he told the worst jokes. He loved music and was a big fan of the Blues. Norm had many hobbies including flying, sailing, guitars, designing and building electronics. He enjoyed teaching and sharing his knowledge. Norm will be remembered by his longtime friends for the many fun times at the house in Cloverdale, Edmonton. Norm will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Jim Hill; and three sisters, Sheila Berry, Lorraine Hill, Audrey Kenny and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Elfa.
Thanks to the Calgary Foothills Hospital for the care Norm received when he was in the hospital and to Sage Hill Retirement Residence for his care during his stay. It was Norm’s wish to be cremated and to not have a service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Norm’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200, 119 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6 or Calgary Health Trust, 800, 11012 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB, T2J 6A5.
Oh Norm ... how we will all miss you. Your jokes, your knowledge and your friendship. As someone that lived with you in that house (a very, very long time ago) in Cloverdale; yes, those memories and all of the other memories we all had together will NEVER be forgotten. RIP my friend.
