Elizabeth (Betty) McCuish passed away peacefully at the Providence Care Centre in Calgary on Sunday, October 22, 2017. Betty was born Mabel Elizabeth McCuish on January 24, 1926 at the family home near Watts, AB in the Hanna area. She attended school in that area before leaving to join the WW2 effort as a member of the CWAC. After the war she attended a business school in Calgary, and after that started her career there. She moved to Vancouver in 1951, where she worked for various businesses before joining Wawanesa Insurance. Betty retired and moved back to Calgary in 2001 and from that time forward she lived near her sisters, Jean, Joan and Joyce. During those years, the sisters spent considerable time together. Betty relocated to the Father Lacombe Care Centre in Calgary in 2016, and recently moved to the Providence Care Centre.
Betty is survived by her sisters, Joan, Joyce and Lois. Betty was predeceased by her brothers, Aubrey and Malcolm, and her sister, Jean. A Memorial Service for Betty will be held at Atria Canyon Meadows (in the activity room), 12 Deerview Terrace SE, Calgary, AB on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 3:30 pm.
