Sandra Irene Michel
April 3rd, 2017
MICHEL, Sandra Irene
Our beloved Sandra Michel went to join her earthly father and heavenly Father on Monday, April 3, 2017. Sandra is remembered by all who knew her as a gentle and kind soul who gave her time freely, and her heart entirely. Children loved her because they knew without a doubt that she would rather give up her day to play games, explore the farm or bake with them. Her love for animals was deep and sensitive. Many an animal enjoyed laying on her lap or accepting delicious treats from her kitchen. Sandra had a beautiful and natural God given gift for music. Her deep and melodic voice brought peace to many. Although the violin was her instrument of choice, she also played the piano, the accordion, bells, and saxophone.
Most of all Sandra loved her husband Neil with the greatest devotion and undivided loyalty. She was so proud to work alongside him on the farm and be his best friend. Her family was her greatest joy. She was very proud of her three sons. She would often look over at them and say, “Look at how handsome my boys are.”
Sandra loved Jesus deeply. Every day she was praying for someone, helping at MOPS programs, counselling young mothers, cooking at Whispering Pines Bible Camp, cuddling babies in the church nursery, singing on a worship team or teaching Bible studies. People were drawn to Sandra and her faith because of her humility. She never pretended to have it all together. She knew that she needed God daily and she loved others without reservation, it didn’t matter their story or circumstance.
Sandra will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Neil Michel; their 3 sons, Kelly & Sarah, Jason & Elena and Ryan & Angela; 8 grandchildren who brought incredible pride and joy to her life, Ella, Liam, Isaiah, Taliyah, Hadley, Braelynn, Tobyn and Kya; her mother, Irene DeWitt; siblings, Denver & Teresa DeWitt and family, Dallas & Debbie DeWitt and family and Wendy Kelly.
A Celebration of Sandra’s Life will be held at Crossfield Baptist Church, Crossfield, AB on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Sandra’s memory to:
Whispering Pines Bible Camp #220, 823 - 64 Ave NW Calgary, AB, T2K 5J4 or a charity of your choice.

Cannot express the shock and sorrow we feel at the loss of a dear cousin, Sandra. I do not believe there is a warmer, kinder person on this earth. I believe she always had others on her mind before herself. We hope the whole Mitchel/DeWitt/Needham family will find solace in their memories of this wonderful woman.
I am so sorry to hear of this loss! Sandra was one of many, many people who supported me at Crossfield Baptist Church, and I will always remember how much she smiled and welcomed me no matter how long I'd been away. She was a beautiful woman in every way, and I know that everyone will be feeling her loss keenly. Sandra, thank you for everything you have given to the people around you; I will never forget you. I hope you have found peace with your Father and are looking down on all the good you did in the world with a smile.
