RUMLEY, Charles
Charles (Chuck) Rumley of Calgary, AB passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2017 at the age of 74 years. Chuck is lovingly remembered by his 3 children and 4 grandchildren with whom he enjoyed playing cards and crib, watching sports and just chatting with. Chuck is also survived by many friends, 2 brothers, and several nieces and grand-nieces. He will be reunited with his mom (Nora Wren) who predeceased him in 2008. He was also predeceased by one of his brothers.
Chuck was born in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia on September 19, 1943 and moved to Calgary in his youth. Chuck spent more than 20 years as a milkman, a job he very much enjoyed. Later he worked for Hertz car rental company where he developed many good friendships and got his fill of driving cars - something he loved to do. Chuck was an avid fisherman. He didn't always have the best luck but he always made the best of every trip out.
Chuck was a Flames and Blue-jays enthusiast and we often joked that his mood was dependent on a win or loss of his team. He also enjoyed his Casino visits before he was unable to go any longer....again, not always the best of luck but good times were had. Always the jokester, even until the very end, Chuck will be remembered for his sense of humor and his kind heart.
A Celebration of Chuck’s Life will be held at The Grey Eagle Casino and Resort (a place Chuck has wanted to go back to for the last 18 months but never made it), 3779 Grey Eagle Drive, Calgary, AB on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Eagle Robe Room of the Hotel.
Chuck loved animals, especially dogs, and had no tolerance for cruelty to animals. Therefore, we are asking that donations be made in Chuck’s memory to the Calgary Humane Society at www.calgaryhumane.ca or 403-723-6000.
