Messages:

Dear Ray and family, When La Verne passed away, I sent my condoleance to you but up to now I don‘t know if you got it. We would like to know how you are and where you stay. We remember our time together in Zaire and also our visit in 2000. God bless and protect you. Jutta and Johannes

Ray, I was at your Sunday School classes and at the Baptist Church in Visakhapatnam, India with my younger brother Jim, back in the '60s. You and Laverne made such an impression on us and we've been trying to track you down for many years. I was so sorry to finally find some information and to see that Laverne had passed away. Sadly, Jim too passed back in 2005. So many special memories - including the first time having cinnamon buns made by Laverne at your home in Visak! I still have and treasure the Good News Bible you gave me and dedicated to me. Please know you're in our family's hearts, thoughts and prayers.

Dear Ray, we knew you and LaVerne when you were missionaries in Kitsombiro, Zaire and we were in Peace Corps in the same village. Do accept our condolences on her passing.

Dear Ray, Elizabeth, Deborah, and David, I have written a message through the Guest Book of the National Post, but not sure if that has reached you. I do want you to know that I have such happy memories of our times together in the early 60's in Kakinada, India. And it is good to be reconnected again now, although in a time of sorrow. My prayers are with you, that our great God of all Comfort surrounds you with love and peace. May our Resurrection Hope be a strength for all the family. I give thanks for LaVerne, a very gifted woman, and a beautiful friend. With loving sympathy, Sandra

Dear Ray, We were very sorry to read that LaVerne has passed away. She will be greatly missed by many, and of course especially by you and the rest of the Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the days ahead. May memories of your happy times with LaVerne bring you comfort and peace, and the love of Friends and Family support you. Geoff and Enid

Dear Ray and family, A friend of mine who saw Laverne's obituary in The National Post today sent it on to me. It struck me with sadness but also my mind flooded with such good memories. Not only did I think of our days in India, but I recalled our "chance" meeting in a museum in Yukon and later good visits with you both in your Calgary home and when you visited Ontario. Earlier today you celebrated Laverne's remarkable life. I am sure the Service was a great tribute to her and your ministry together. Laverne lived life with zest and compassion and touched so many lives with her love and care. Tom joins me in sending our sympathy to you and all the family. In Christian love, Audrey and Tom

Ray: Our thoughts and prayers are with you. She will be missed but you have many fond memories.

Truely thankful for the time we shared at Northmount Baptist Church... Ray: know that you are in our prayers...

Dear Ray and all your family, I was sad to hear of LaVernes passing, but know she is at peace and receiving her crown from our dear Lord. You together had a rich and wide experience working in our world which will leave you with so many happy memories. And I too, have happy memories of you both here at Northmount, which I keep. Love and God Bless you and yours, Margaret Clarke
