Donald "Don" Sterling Briggs

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don, on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Drumheller Hospital, at the age of 81. He will be lovingly remembered by his better half Dian; Sons, David and Terry; Brothers, John and Kevin; Sisters, Gladys, Betty and Alyla “Fern”; numerous nieces and nephews; close friends, Bill Wiggens, Terry Bruke, Joe Palin, Harry Wareing and many more. A special thank you to Billie Woods and Joyce Lee for making the butter tarts that Don loved so very much. Also, a thank you to Gail Pengon, Jennie De Mills and Kim Oo La La for all the help they have given Dian.
Don proudly served in the Canadian Army as a Signalman for 14 years, after which he took to the sea and sailed with many different ships, hauling various materials. When he returned to land he began working as a Lineman for the City of Calgary. Don retired after 17 years and then moved to Cambria. He then began to work As a Commissioner for the Royal Tyrell Museum before retiring for good and moving into Drumheller. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s memory to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29th Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2.
