Howard "Keith" Carlson
June 24th, 2018
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Keith Carlson on June 24th, 2018 at the Foothills General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Gloria; children Tamara (Mark) Cyr, Donald (Jennifer) Carlson, Vance (Andrea) Beblow and Trevor Beblow; brother Ken Carlson; sister Elaine Carlson; granddaughters Samara and Emily; grandsons Michael and Nicholas, as well as several other loving friends and family. He is predeceased by his mother and father Jessie and Howard Carlson.
Keith was a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, serving as a Materials Technician with 25 years of dedicated service to his country. After his service with the military, Keith found a new home as a member Canadian Corps of Commissionaires at the Calgary International Airport.
When not engaged with airport security you could find Keith at a golf course with friends, telling a story (often romanticised but never wholly untrue) to anyone who would listen, or dancing to any of his favorite songs while enjoying a “two finger” glass of his favorite whiskey.
He was an active member of all communities he called home, being fully involved in both the Royal Canadian Legion and the Lions Club of Canada, The Pete Knight Rodeo, several Legion involved parades and numerous other activities. He also volunteered at the local Crossfield ice rink.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the doctors, nurses, friends and all other caregivers for their care and support. For those who wish to share a story or picture, please follow the link to a facebook memorial page in his honour:
(https://www.facebook.com/groups/1068853433290019/) and post for all others to enjoy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly wishes that donations be made to the Bowness branch 238 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Keith will be dearly missed and never forgotten by all who knew him.
