Peter P. Driedger
March 2nd, 2018
Peter passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, at Fletcher Village the morning of March 2, 2018 with Helen by his side.
He was born at home near Olser, Sk. on April 19, 1923. From an early age, he knew he wanted to teach and he did so until 1987. His last posting, as principal, was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to begin a Christian School.
Peter married Helen Gossen August 11, 1946. Together they had 5 children: Brian (still birth), Ken (Melanie), Connie-deceased 1983 (Jake), Eunice (Garth), and Earl (Laura). Also fondly remembering him are 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Peter and Helen’s lives included teaching and other ministry around Saskatoon, in La Ronge and in Kenya. They relocated to Airdrie in 2009 to be closer to family. Wherever Peter went, he was always prepared to share the importance of Christ in his life with others. (1 Peter 3:15) He had great hope in Jesus Christ as his Saviour, and deeply wanted his whole family, and anyone else he met, to know the truth of the cross.
If the legacy of a man is measured by the lives he has touched, and how much he is loved, then a big piece of Peter will live on in all of us.
A Funeral Service will be held at Airdrie Alliance Church on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
