I have fond memories of visiting the farm. My family was welcomed there. I was a preteen and felt very special when I was there. I have heard so many wonderful things about Aunt Lavina throughout the years. Her kindness was among the many positives. My condolences to Ben and Bertha.
Our sympathies to Ben, Beryl,Bertha and their spouces and children on the passing of Aunt Lavina. She was a special person. She will meet her husband again as she was a believer and a wonderful mother to her children who will miss her.
The original Harbidge homestead was on the land that was farmed by Dan and Lavina. It was an exciting day when we would go out to the farm. The drive was always adventuresome, what are now paved roads were well travelled gravel often bumpy and dusty. I learned a lot from our many visits and summer holidays, how to drive an 49 Ford 1/2 ton, tractors and how much chicken manure weighted. Thanks Aunt Lavina for making so many dreams come true. RIP
I have very fond memories of Aunt Lavina. She and Uncle Dan were always warm and kind to me when I was growing up on the farm near Cochrane. We are all better people for having known her.
Aunt Lavina was indeed a special person, I always enjoyed time spent on the farm during summer break while growing up. I can never remember her saying a cross word and I am sure that a few of us "town cousins" gave her some reasons too. I remember when Granny Harbidge was spending time at the farm and the care she would get and the patience Aunt Lavina had. Lavina you will be missed but you are with other loved ones now I know you are at peace.
Lavina was a very special person. I fondly remember the days before she and Uncle Dan were married and I would visit my grandparents when Lavina would lead the singing at the church service held in the house. And the other special moments I was able to share with them. Warmest regards, Bruce.
Aunt Lavina will always be remembered by me whenever David Harbidge (my cousin) would ride into the farm yard in his Model A Ford, and we would all have fun with the family. May all you my cousins and spouses and families be comforted with such a wonderful mother and aunt. Blessings to you all.
