JENNER, Alan William

Alan was born March 18, 1955 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, January 1, 2018 at the age of 62 years. He was the second born child of George and Barbara Jenner and brother of Judy.

Alan was the husband of Cathy Raiber and loving father to Matthew, Amanda and Patrick, grandfather to Alex and Hayden, son-in-law to Anton and June Raiber and brother-in- law to Anthony, Andrea and Janet.

He will be remembered as an avid golfer, sailor and hockey player, his tennis skills were not bad either. He cooked real good, like awesomely good. He was kind and funny. He brightened our lives and we miss him dearly.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1305 Main Street, Airdrie, AB on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alan’s memory to the Calgary Women’s Shelter, #500 – 1509 Centre Street SW, Calgary, AB, T2G 2E6 (www.calgarywomensshelter.com).

Dear Cathy, Matthew. Amanda and Partrick We are so sorry to hear about Alan and are thinking about you all during this sad time. It’s been a few years since we lived in Airdrie and we remember you all fondly. We hope your happy memories help you through the months ahead. Monty and Gail Sheppard

Dad, We loved you so much. I know we were assholes. You were there to pick us up when we got in the most trouble. Even had dinner when our lives were a wreck. Thanks for always feeding us our favourite meals when your words couldn't express. You always had us, forever in our hearts but never forgotten. Please be nice with us during this time. We love you. Regards (your words not ours) Matthew, Amanda and Patrick

Kathy, except my deepest condolences. You are amaizing women and will find way to be strong for yourself and kids.

Kathy, we would like to express our sympathy and love to you and the family, "The Pepper", one of many nicknames he was given by the Carleton U hockey team and friends back in Ottawa. To say it was a shock to hear, as we were hoping he would be joining the guys for a celebration for all the other old guys who are turning 65....he wanted to go too!!! We will be raising a glass in his honour , god speed Al, we loved you. from all the gang back in Ottawa, god speed Pepper

So very sorry to hear this news on Monday from Matt, it brought me to tears. Al was the goalie for our mens hockey team the Airdrie Warriors for many, many years. The criteria for the Warriors team is you have to be a good person first, and a decent hockey player second; Al met the criteria perfectly, as he was a true friend and a great goalie. All of his teammates loved to be around him, whether at the arena, on the golf course, or on our annual team camping trips to Wilderness Village and Grey Cup parties. Al was one of the most observant people I know, and he could always give you a complete run-down on a period of hockey and the other team's weaknesses, or help you with your golf swing when things weren't quite right. Our teammates are now spread across the country and each one expressed their sadness and we all extend our condolences to Cathy, Matt, Amanda, Patrick and their families. We will all miss Al.

Cathy & family - We are shocked to hear of Al's passing but know that you will all have great memories to remember him by. I clearly remember sitting/sleeping over in the basement on Carling Avenue 28 years ago this month as I waited for the phone call to return for the arrival of out first daughter Sarah at the Civic Hospital just down the road . He always had a great laugh and a big smile and he will be missed by his many friends scattered everywhere.

Sending our sincere condolences. Anna & Craig Earley

Lotsa love and kindness and prayers to you all. I am a call away if any of you need anything. He is missed.

My name is Mel Davidson, I lived beside Allen on golf rd in vill de Léry from 1965 to 1971 when I moved to BC. Although I have not spoken to him since, I felt a deep loss when I heard of his passing,my mind went back to those years and brought back memories of sailing in the summer at the woodlands yaught club to shoveling snow off of the pond on the golf course so we could play hockey. I also remember his bike with the banana seat and monkey handle bars,it was the coolest bike in town. Rest peacefully my old friend

In deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with you and family at this difficult time

Cathy and kids so sorry for the loss of your father and husband. He always had a way to make me laugh.

I went to school with Alan and Judy in Quebec. Judy and I have been friends for years. I am very sorry to hear of Alan's passing. May he rest in peace and my condolences to his family.

Aw Alan, the times we had! You were such a scrawny little guy with a great big attitude and we had so much fun around Woodlands. I loved hearing the stories about the trouble that you and Ward got into when you were kids. And we made some trouble together too! Hugs and love to Barbara, Judy, Cathy and the kids. My heart goes out to you all. love, Suzanne
