Thomas "Tom" Donald McCallum
October 10th, 2018
Thomas “Tom” Donald McCallum passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his farm near Carstairs, AB. Tom is lovingly remembered by his brothers, Clifford (Jean), Elmer (Donna), Angus (Donna); sister, Phyllis (Bob) Hunter; nieces and nephews, Patti, Melanie, Jason, Jackie, Meghan, Brett and Erin. He was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Mary; and niece, Danielle. He was born on April 11, 1951 in Boissevain, MB. Tom took his schooling at Primrose and Boissevain to Grade 10. He worked in many fields: hired help for farmers, ploughing in telephone lines for MTS, for Manitoba Pool Elevators and built roads in the Thompson area in Northern Manitoba. He moved to Alberta in 1972 and found work in pipelining and construction of oil leases. Tom was a farmer through and through and he had purchased a ¼ section of land east of Carstairs, AB, where he resided until his passing. Tom enjoyed travelling the country side taking in the local rodeos and chuckwagon events. His car was never idle as he drove miles and miles crop inspecting. Tom enjoyed reminiscing with friends and neighbours. He certainly enjoyed a good game of cards from Crib to 500. In his younger years he vacationed in Mexico and took a cruise to Alaska. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #53, Carstairs, Alberta, on October 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Town of Carstairs Beautification Program in memory of Tom McCallum or Heart & Stroke Foundation, 119-14 St NW #200, Calgary, Alberta T2N 1Z6.

I recently found a book titled Beckoning Hills revisited and the name inside the book is Tom Mccallum, Carstairs, Alberta. I would love for the family to have this book. I wonder if someone could send me an email in regards to this.
