John "Jack" Dawson Molyneux
July 10th, 2018
Our beloved father and grandfather passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Hanna Long Term Care Facility surrounded by his loving family at the age of 88 years. Jack is fondly remembered by his two children, Sharon (Paul), Doug (Traci); nine grandchildren, Brad, Cory, Matthew, Cassie, Janelle, Ashley, Meghan, Suzanne, Olivia; and nine great grandchildren. Dad was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Molyneux; wife Ruth; brothers, Allie and Joe; and sister Ethel. Dad worked as a country salesman for McGavin’s for 30 years; after retiring he drove the valley bus for 5 years where he enjoyed his time getting to know the people of Drumheller. Dad was an avid gardener and loved spending his days in the summertime outdoors with his grandchildren. In 1950 Jack met the love of his life, Ruth Harrison through mutual friends, Fran Broom and Stella Anderson at a social event at the Elks Club. Mom and Dad started their life together in Nacmine in 1957 and were together for 57 years. A private family graveside has occurred. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, #200, 119-14 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6.
