Pauline Paxman (nee Camp)

Pauline passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 6, 2018, with family by her side, at the Hanna Long Term Care Facility. She is lovingly remembered by her three children, Robert (Diane) Paxman of Hanna, Beverly (Dave) Sampson of St. Albert, and Brian (Chrystal) Paxman of Sackville New Brunswick; four grandchildren, Krisi (Terry) Foster, Kate (Mike) Vasseur, Joe (Sherry) Sampson, Leigh (Jason) Ploof; and ten great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kelly, Jake, Kai, Madisen, Deanna, Aiden, Willow, Kenna, and Barret. Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Hilda Camp; husband, Bill Paxman; sister, Mona Coombs of Vernon B.C.; and brother, Arthur Camp of Hanna. Pauline was born on the family farm at Scapa Alberta, attended the Scapa school where she completed her grade nine education. Pauline married Bill Paxman on December12, 1944 in Drumheller. When first married they lived on the Levi Kennedy farm, then in 1946 they bought and moved to the Walter Carlson farm. She was a member of the Royal Purple #258 for 30 years, a member of the Hanna Legion for 13 years and spent 11 years as treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary. In 2000, she moved to Drumheller and was a member of the Drumheller legion for many years. Pauline loved to travel and had taken Cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, South Western USA and did a tour across Canada, plus several smaller trips around Alberta. She also travelled with her daughter and son in-law on several excursions to the West coast of the USA. Curling was one of her favourite sports, she participated in the game when younger and watched it and baseball on television in her later years. A Family Graveside service was held at the Hanna Cemetery.
