My heartfelt condolences to Dave's family. I was deeply saddened to hear of Dave's sudden passing. Our paths crossed 37 years ago in Calgary. We moved from business associates to friends. My day was always made brighter throughout the years when I dealt with Dave. May you rest in peace and may God grant your family solace in this most difficult of times.

Deepest condolences to the Welter family. When I heard of the passing of Dave I was deeply saddened. When I started working for standard General 40 years ago it was Dave and his Father Arnold that showed me the ropes and guided me. I am forever grateful to meet such an amazing hardworking man. He was very knowledgeable in everything he did. He will be missed dearly. Rest in peace my friend.
Worked with Dave, Arnold and Ken at Standard General. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
I have known Dave for thirty plus years. As a customer he at times was tough as well as fair, but mostly was a pleasure to deal with. He always came into our store in a good and friendly manner. He was well respected within his industry as well as ours. It's been a pleasure knowing him, and I will miss him . Andrew Ward Calgary , AB

David was a co worker, a mentor, and mostly a friend. He touched a lot of people in the Asphalt construction world in Canada and the USA. A very well respected man in the industry, his knowledge was 2nd to none. David taught me a lot in the time I knew him. I feel I am the most knowledgeable fishermen that doesn't fish or own a rod or reel. He will be deeply missed by friends, co workers, and especially family. RIP David
I worked under Dave at SG when I was younger and will always remember the dignified manner in which he treated me. My condolences to all his family.
