Grant David Carleton passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Southwood Hospice on Monday, February 11, 2019 at the age of 66 years old. He is survived by his siblings, Barry (Gloria), Danny, Steve (Gail), Hazel (Paul), Dale (Pat), Ellen (Phil), Ross (Diane); and daughter, Carrie Palko; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; along with his special friend, Susie. All the doctors, nurses and care staff that have cared for him over the last 48 years were special friends too. We all loved him for his humor and strength. Grant will join his predeceased parents, Frank and Dorothy and sisters, Jeannie and Colleen; and nephews, Shawn Elkin, Kevin and Clinton Deforge.
Grant was born, raised and educated in Olds, Alberta. He moved to Calgary in approximately 1970 and spent a few years living in Lethbridge, and Strathmore, but Calgary was always home.
A Viewing will be held at Sonrise Community Baptist Church, 7015 – 32 Avenue NE, Calgary, Alberta on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 12:00 pm, with Funeral Service to follow at 12:30 pm, with Pastor Stephen Carleton officiating. Interment will take place at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

Grant is happy, He has no way of knowing he is not going to wake up. The beauty of falling a sleep and passing away. Grant still thiks he is going to wake up and get breakfast served to him. A great guy that missed many of the pleasures of life, like the rest of us are enjoying.
My sincerest sympathy to Grant's family. I met Grant when I lived at 4D. Such good memories. Big heart!
