It is with heavy hearts we announce Michael John Carron (Mike), loving husband, father, grandfather and friend earned his wings on September 21, 2019 after a brief, hard fought fight with cancer.
Mike was born July 20, 1946 in Arnprior, Ontario. He married the love of his life Patti (Tocher) on August 17, 1991 and together they proudly raised two daughters, Sarah and Arianna.
A proud, hardworking businessman, he ran his successful business, Southside Equipment Sales for 30 years alongside his wife Patti. Mike enjoyed his life’s work and was known for his bigger than life laugh, contagious smile, sparkling blue eyes and big heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need or to have a visit discussing his favourite topics; world news, politics or business.
Mike is lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Patti, daughters, Sarah (Joel Taumoli), Arianna (Curtis Clipperton); grandchildren, Ben and Rori (Taumoli); mother-in-law, Phyllis Abramson; sister, Donna (Ken) Bannerman; brother, Edward (Theresa) Carron; many nieces, nephews and countless other loved ones. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Sarah (Thompson) Carron and brother, Timothy Carron.
A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held in his honour at the Apple Creek Golf Course, Airdrie, AB on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Airdrie Food Bank 20 East Lake Way NE, Airdrie, AB T4A 2J3 will be greatly appreciated.
