FREY, Kenneth Frank
With deepest sorrow, we announce that Kenneth Frank Frey, age 40 years, our most beloved son, brother, grandson, family member and friend passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019, while in hospital after a courageous battle with liver disease. Ken will be missed everyday by his father, Joe Frey; his sister, Shauna (Keith) Park; his grandmother, Carrie Frey; his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many great friends. We are comforted that Ken is now with his mother, Sueann “Jessie” Bales as well as both his grandfathers, Frank Frey and Kenneth Bales. He is loved here on Earth as well as in Heaven. Born on August 19, 1979 in Calgary, AB, Ken always had a passion for the outdoors. Hunting, fishing and shooting were among his favorite outdoor activities. You would often find him pursuing these activities in the company of his many friends and family. Ever since he was a child, Ken participated in Old West Reenactments as a member of the Guns of the Golden West. Starting as a child actor, performing with his mom and sister, Ken naturally progressed into one of the primary bad guys. Due to his height and slenderness, Ken affectionately was given the nickname “Stringbean”, once he was old enough to shoot a gun for himself. He was a staunch supporter of the Military and First Responders. Ken will always be remembered for his kindness, passion and humor. Most of all, we will recall the sheer pleasure of his company and how much we will miss him. Ken’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to the health-care professionals of Unit 36 at Foothills Hospital in Calgary for their care and commitment for Ken during his stay. Donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Calgary Military Family Resource Center, 4225 Crowchild Trail SW, Calgary, AB T3E 1T8 or Calgary Police Foundation, 5111 – 47 Street NE (LC987) Calgary, AB T3J 3R2.
Messages:
To Joe, Carrie and Shauna, I am saddened for your loss. I worked with Ken at the gun counter of Wholesale Sports Calgary. Ken was enthusiastic for the firearm sports. Kenny had many loyal customers who would deal with no one else but the Stringbean. Rest In Peace Ken.
TO THE FREY FAMILY WE ARE SO SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR LOSS . OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AT THIS TIME OF SORROW . STRING BEAN MAY BE GONE BUT WILL BE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER. MAY GOD COMFORT YOU ALL
