Peter William Liphuysen, 53, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, July 13, 2019.
Peter was born in Tilburg, Netherlands and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was just 10 weeks old.
His hard exterior protected his gentle soul and willingness to help people, and the dogs and cats in need, that he loved.
Working as a drywall finisher he took great pride in his craft and shared his closely guarded expertise with a nephew.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him and is predeceased by his parents Hank and Maria.

How do I start...what do I say ? That speaks of the past and grieves the present... I loved you Peter and that never goes away…and although we didn’t stay together, I always will love you. You are held in my heart, as someone I chose to spend my life experiences with, for a short time or for a long time, I’m so glad I chose you…and you, me. I’m so glad we were able to re-connect as friends and share our love and grief for those that mattered most to us, our animals, our family and our friends. I am in shock, but even so, I celebrate you as I always have, as a strong man, an honest man, with a big kind heart and admirably, a man who did life in his own way. If I could be there on your day of Celebration of Life, I would be. You know it. I promise you that I will celebrate you every time I think of you, I will celebrate the good times and honour the lessons of the not so good times and appreciate you for all those memories, always. I will celebrate how you left us, quickly and in sleep, for I know it was just how you wanted it…but I will mourn the timing…it was way to soon. My deepest condolences to all your family, friends and to All of the others who love you, that have now been left behind. May you find comfort where you are now, with all those that love you and went before you. Watch over us all, big guy in the sky.... And we will see you again.
R.I.P uncle Pete ... I know u were not my uncle , but u sure got a kick when I called you Hunky Uncky! You always laughed at that and blushed ! All our lives have changed now ..We all now must adjust without you .. Your laugh and smile and big bear hugs will always be in my heart .. I will not cry because I lost , but will always laugh because I had !! My heart and prayers go out to your family and to those who had the pleasure of having you in all our lives ! You can now dance with the angels God bless

You were a great friend to me for many years brother and I hope you’re doing well on the new chapter of your life Rest In Peace ❤️
I will remember Pete as kind and sharing lots of happy moments with friends. I got to know Pete through Steve and he was easier to talk with when he was among close friends. Pete was a genuine good guy. Blessings of peace to the family.
I know that it is a tough job that you worked and that you worked lots. But every time I saw you, you were always smiling, never complaining. Thanks for the good cheer.
