TARNOCZI, Joseph
Joseph Tarnoczi, 86, of Airdrie Alberta went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joe was born on April 10, 1932 in Lethbridge, Alberta to Frank Tarnoczi and Margaret (Tell). He married the love of his life Jean (Buehler) on June 30, 1958 and enjoyed 60 wonderful years of marriage. Joe worked as a lumberjack and a truck driver in the Victoria, British Columbia area before moving back to Alberta and taking a job at the post office. He worked at the post office for 27 years first as a clerk in Calgary, then later as a post master in Vermilion, Wainwright, Vegreville, Drayton Valley, Brooks and finally Banff. Joe loved to travel with Jean and saw most of Canada and the USA. Although he was a prairie boy he especially loved the ocean.
Joe was the loving father of Joseph Allan (Linda), Reia (Darcy) Good and Teresa (Darcy) Timmins and an attentive grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Joe is survived by his older brother, Frank (Kay); and sister in law, Marlene. Joe was predeceased by his parents and younger brothers, Tom and Phillip.
A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 1009 East Lake Blvd., Airdrie, AB on Friday, March 8, 2019.
Special thanks to the staff of the Foothills Hospital and to the Grace Baptist Church congregation for all the kindness and support. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Alberta Children's Hospital Oncology Department (childrenshospital.ab.ca or call 1 877 715 5437).Messages:
