Della Elizabeth Trenholm
May 23rd, 2019
Della Elizabeth Trenholm, the first-born child of Raymond & Rosie White, made her debut on September 9th, 1922, in Woodbend, AB. Over the years she was joined by six brothers and two sisters. The family farmed for several years in Graminia and then moved to Wildwood. Here Della married Fred Trenholm on Nov. 4th, 1941, and their marriage was blessed with four children - Edna, Ruth, Leonard, & Lawrence. They farmed here until 1956 when the family moved to Enderby, BC, where they continued to farm. Fred also worked in the sawmills, while Della looked after their home and children. In 1971 Fred & Della and their boys returned to Alberta, farming west of Didsbury until Fred’s passing in 1990. Della stayed on the farm, where she enjoyed gardening and a variety of needlework crafts. She enjoyed being involved in her church as well as Women’s Institute and the Zella community. Della moved off the farm at age 94 into the Sundre Lodge where she made many new friends. She spent the last few months in Bethany Care in Didsbury.
Della slipped peacefully into her Lord’s presence on Thursday, May 23rd, 2019, at the age of 96. She will be sadly missed by her two sons and their wives, Len & Helen from Erickson, BC, Lawrence & Pam from Didsbury, son-in-law, Robert Carter from Arkansas, two sisters, Gloria Anderson & Donna Niven, and three brothers, Fred, Herman, & Leonard White. Della was very proud of her 22 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. She will also be missed by many long-standing as well as new friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred; her daughters, Edna and Ruth; one grandchild; two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; twin sisters, and four brothers.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 2:00 PM in the McDougal Chapel, West of Sundre. Memorial tributes in Della’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
Messages:
So sorry we are unable to attend Aunt Della's service. She was a very caring lady and we know she will be missed by many. ( Our last Aunt on Daddy's side of the family.) Prayers are with you all.
My condolence to all the family on Aunt Della's passing. I didn't see her much after leaving Wildwood but she certainly was part of my childhood. She had a very long and productive life and will be missed by many. God bless you all.
