MOORHOUSE, Kenneth Thomas
With heavy hearts we said goodbye to Ken on Wednesday December 9th, 2020.
Born in Ericksdale Hospital (1947) he spent the first couple years of his life on the farm in Oak Point, Manitoba. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1949 and he remained there working various construction jobs until joining the military in 1965. He loved his time with the military (21 years) and all of the friends he made during his various postings. He met his Waterloo (Jean) in North Bay, Ontario and they married in December 1973. Then posted to Lahr, Germany, he travelled all over Europe with his Mom and many relatives that visited for the next 5 years. Returning to Shilo, Manitoba and then eventually settling in Airdrie, Alberta. Although residing in Alberta his heart was always in Winnipeg with the Jet and Bombers.
Kenneth Moorhouse is Lovingly Remembered by his wife, Jean; son, Jamie (Tina); grandson, Bailey; sister, Wendy (Phil); brother, Lionel (Vivian); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his parents; sister, Lillian; and brothers, George and Raymond. 3 days later (December 12th) his other brother Harry also passed.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation www.kidneyfoundation.ab.ca or Heart & Stroke Foundation www.heartandstroke.ab.ca.
Messages:
Ken was a special person and he guided me many a time when I needed his knowledge and expertise. I will miss our discussions during hockey season, re his Winnipeg Jets and my Pittsburgh Penguins.
Will miss seeing you in your chair when next I walk through the door...always remembered.
I have a lot of wonderful memories while serving with Ken in Egypt UNEF and Lahr Germany. Ken was such a good person and could he play cards. He was always willing to help others and steer them to the right path. Margret and I send our deepest love and sympathies. I will not forget KEN
