Lucienne Westby
March 3rd, 2020
Tuesday, March 3, 2020, Lucienne Westby (aka Lou Kellogg) passed away in her home with her children and granddaughter by her side.
Lou retired in 1985 as the Production Manager at Duffoto Printing. Lou started 28 years earlier as the delivery driver, but her employer quickly recognized that Lou had the enthusiasm and a charismatic personality to advance quickly within the business. During her employment, Lou became the first female to join the Calgary Craftsman’s Club and continued to break barriers by becoming the first female President of the Craftsman’s Club. Following her retirement, Lou enjoyed golfing, travelling, making wine and enjoying the time on the farm overall. Then in 1990 Lou obtained her Class 1 truck driving license. She travelled North America with Garry and Janice as the relief driver. This earned her the nick name “Cannon-ball” with her friends.
Lou was an avid dancer; her dance card was always full. She kept busy sewing blankets for organizations in need. Lou lived near Crossfield, Alberta on a farm where she kept a huge garden, ran a tractor to complete the chores, and kept chickens. She loved to sell the eggs to friends, and would often surprise a mechanic or service person with a dozen eggs and some baking as an extra thank you. Lou’s smile and laugh were infectious and her perspective on life was always positive.
Lou is lovingly remembered by her children, Garry Kellogg and his wife Janice of Crossfield, AB, Brian Kellogg and his daughter Breanna of Calgary, AB, Tanya Kellogg and her wife Nancy of Ottawa, Ont. Also by her sisters, Delia Irwin of Calgary and Norma Lavallee of Winnipeg. Lou was a fighter and departed this life with dignity and as always - on her terms. In lieu of any flowers, please feel free to make a donation to a Cancer society. Lou requested a cremation with no service.

Please accept our sincere condolences. We met Lou at the Thursday dance at Horton Legion and quickly became acquainted. That beautiful smile of hers lit up the entire room. We also became her "egg customers". Reading her obituary we are not surprised to learn about her adventurous life and her successful career. A strong woman with a soft hear. She loved to dance and always enjoyed a dance with Aron .... and learn yet another step. Toujours dans nos pensées
