Marshall James Percy Evans

Marshall Evans (Marsh), 91 of Calgary, Alberta passed away Sunday evening, May 30, 2021 after his struggle with cancer.

Marsh is lovingly remembered by his wife of 14 years, Val Evans; daughter, Sandi Stoutenburg (Rocky Graziano); and sons, Barclay Evans (Susanne Evans) and Tyler Stoutenburg (Curtis Maclean). He is also lovingly remembered by his grandsons, Bryce Evans, Graham Evans, James Evans, DJ Boyle, Michael Boyle; and his great-grandson, Silas Evans. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverley Evans; son, Scott Evans;  and his beloved cat, Jake.

Marsh was proud to be one of the first group to be trained as a pilot by NATO after Word War II. Marsh moved to Calgary from Regina with his family in the 60's and bought a plastic bag manufacturing company (Modern Packaging), which he made successful after lots of hard work and ingenuity. In 1991 Marsh enrolled at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) to study electronics. He graduated at age 65 with Honours and a job offer from Konica Minolta where he worked until his retirement almost 10 years later.

Marsh lived an active life and was especially passionate about aircraft, sailing, hiking, badminton and tennis. Marsh was born & raised in Mission, B.C. and moved back to the west coast twice, first in 1986 with Beverley and again in 2010 with Val. Marsh & Val enjoyed a busy life on Vancouver Island filled with hiking, exploring and spending time with many friends. In early March of 2020 Marsh and Val returned to Calgary to be closer to family.

Dear Val Marsh will be sadly missed. Rembering all the good laughs and great food at the wine evenings brings a smile to my face. Our thoughts are with you and the families.
