February 2nd, 2021
LORIMER, Buzz (B. Wayne)
August 7, 1934 - February 2, 2021
Early on Tuesday, February 2, a very special man left us to join his Heavenly Father.
Buzz was born to Jim & Heloise Lorimer in Airdrie, Alberta where he attended school & enjoyed playing hockey & baseball.
After high school at Crescent Heights High School in Calgary, he worked in the field of surveying, then attended Red Deer College & Mount Royal College in Calgary, where he competed in ski jumping, cross country & downhill skiing. Being certified as a ski instructor, he taught at Mt. Norquay AB, Mt. Tremblant, QC & Kosciuszko, Australia. He travelled to many countries world wide.
In 1966 Buzz married Betty Peters & in 1968 & 1970 they welcomed son, Robert & daughter, Beth, to the family. Betty passed away in early 1989.
Buzz had many careers, mostly in sales, making friends wherever he went. Known for his outgoing personality, desire to help others, & sense of humour, he is fondly
remembered by many.
In 1990 Buzz married Rhea Dick & they were so blessed to have 30 happy years together, travelling, hiking, skiing, volunteering & entertaining in their home! He also kept busy gardening, helping at church & golfing.
In 2018 he was diagnosed with a rare incurable lung condition, which caused increasing weakness & oxygen deprivation. He faced this with courage & determination, never complaining. After only 12 days in hospice, God took him home.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rhea; son, Robert; daughter, Beth (Justin) Francois; step-daughters, Lynda (Oleh) Stupnyckyj, Laureen (Bruno) Cermelj; as well as his brothers, Gary & Rick. Also mourning his loss are his adored grandchildren, Chelsy, Ellie, Alex, Landon, Luka & Jesse.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
If desired, memorial tributes may be made to Alberta Lung Association - Research or Pulmonary Fibrosis: PO Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, AB, T6E 6K2 (https://www.ab.lung.ca/donate)
Special thanks to Dr. Hayder Salman & staff; Dr. O. Turin; Beata, Troy & staff at Respiratory Homecare Solutions,

Dear Rhea, Laureen and your families We were so very sorry to learn that Buzz had passed away and we send you our sincere condolences. We hope you can find comfort Rhea in knowing that you had many happy years together and that you did all you could to help him and keep him comfortable in his time of need. I will always remember Buzz visiting my Dad (Brian Henderson) and Mom (Louisa Henderson) telling me the funny stories about the things he did when he was younger and the mischief he caused in town. He told me about one night, I think it was Buzz and one of his brothers, jumped on a train in Airdrie and then drove it out of town. I remember Buzz laughing the whole time he was talking about it. I always looked forward to seeing him. Michelle Turner (Henderson)
Cousin Buzz was a Super Guy! Like his Mom, Auntie Heloise in so many ways. Buzz was kind, giving, loyal and so fun-loving! He was so blest to have Rhea and his Family by his side! Until we meet again! RIP Buzz❤️

I remember Buzz visiting our family on many Sunday afternoons. Always happy and full of conversation. Stacey and I were lucky enough to be invited to many of his birthdays other celebrations. He was always interested in what you were doing and encouraging. Buzz’s family and friends will have countless memories of him, all bringing a smile to our faces.
Uncle Buzz was one our favourites.... My mom and dad always enjoyed visits and us kids always loved it when Uncle Buzz came to town. I remember smiling and laughing the entire time. Ski trips were fond memories, wishing time didn’t fly and we could of spent more time together. We will miss him, Godspeed Uncle Buzz, love all. Stephen and Andrea Henderson
Our deepest sympathy to Buzz's family. Allan has fond memories of schooldays with Buzz

My condolences to all Buzz's loved ones. He was a great guy who lived life to the fullest. And he never forgot his friends, he spent many hours visiting my dad in hospital back in the 90's.
Hugs to the Lorimer family my condolences to you all memories are a wonderful thing.
We loved Buzz like family! He was always such a character and upbeat and game for almost anything. We loved that he loved our Seahawks football team. He loved Rhea and his family dearly. I have known Rhea my entire life so was very grateful when Buzz came along and swept her off her feet. Buzz was a man of faith and always so loyal to his friends. I am excited for the time when we can all get together and truly celebrate Buzz and share stories of his life. We better make it an all day event. RIP Buzz I know you are with Archie!
Buzz was a prince of a guy who had the biggest heart. I’m saddened to hear of his passing and grateful to have shared his love for sports and fitness. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time. RIP my dear friend!
..I have come to realize how lucky I was when I journey back in time to recall the time Buzz and I spent together. I will always cherish that time. And consider myself lucky to have had that time, and memories it has created knowing Buzz.. . Heaven is better place because your there now . R.I.P. My friend
I lived in the same apartment building as Buzz and his wife Rhea. He had a dog named Bud and I would run into him when I was walking my dog Gracie. Both Buzz and Bud were very friendly, and Buzz was quite outgoing. I will sincerely miss his boisterous personality. As my father would say, Buzz was quite the character! Regards, John Gibson
