Eugene Robert Morris
January 24th, 2021
Eugene “Geno” Morris passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the age of 63 years. Gene is loving remembered by his wife, Angie of 41.5 amazing years together; daughters, Kyla Morris and Jody (Collin) Rempfer; 4 granddaughters, Savannah Morris, Dakota, Payton, Bree Rempfer; Patsy (Brian), Rose (Terry), Bette (Ron), Winnie, Bobby (Gail), Becky, and Scott Kitchen and Dallas (Derek) Danica; as well as numerous friends and colleagues.
Gene had a unique unrepeatable love for his girls and his world revolved around them. He cherished his bond with his son in law, Collin.
Gene had a passion for music and could name that tune faster than anyone. He wasn't afraid to blast his music to his favorite songs including some good old “classic” song.
Gene was actively involved with coaching football, baseball and along with the figure skating community for many years. Geno was also actively involved with the Madden Brewers and played the position of bat catcher. His love for sports led him to coaching other teams. He was a devoted Nascar fan and involved all his family and friends with a competitive edge. His passion for golf led him to many years working and playing with his best friends at the Beaver Dam Golf Course. He thoroughly enjoyed his marshalling days at the golf course. His love for competition and spreadsheets helped him run Mens, Ladies and Couples night for many years at the golf course.
Gene spent many years working his career with UGG learning every aspect of the grain industry, AG Value, WA Grain and All Mills Construction. Rumor has it there was rarely a dull moment when he was in the office. Together with Angie they operated DT’Z Diner and Twister’Z Lounge in Airdrie where they met many great friends and cherished all the memories made.
Gene was very humble and even until he parted never knew how many lives he impacted with his contagious laugh, humor, knowledge and inspiration he gave to everyone he encountered.

My heart goes out to you Angie, Kyla. Jody and families. I remember playing ball, laughs at the restaurant and enjoying many fun times with Gene and all of you. This is truly tragic as Gene was loved by so many people. He will be remembered by all of us with fondness and appreciation of his humor, knowledge of many things and zest for life ❤
Angie and family-You were all the most important thing in his life and he never stopped by without mentioning one or more of you. He always beamed when sharing a story. Gene was so easy to talk to and you could tell him anything and he would find a way to turn the bad to good, or the good even better. I will miss him with all my heart and feel lucky and privileged to know him. Rest well my friend.
I remember so many good times in Crossfield many years ago, but over time losing track of each other. We were proud to call both Gene and Angie friends, and we were shocked to hear of Gene’s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, with love, Tom and Tammy

Gene was one of those people that touched everyone he met. I could write book of memories, my favorite would be finding him curled up under the dining room table during one of our poker games. "Hey Gene what ya doing." "Shhhhh sleeping" I will miss you my friend, you taught me many things over the years but the most important was the value of friendship. Go deep buddy..... See you on the otherside....
Our deepest sympathies to Angie and the entire family of this loss. Geno was such a big part of our memories at Beaver Dam. Thanks to Geno, Donna and I golfed there all the time and became members when we retired. His friendliness to everyone made it easy for anyone to join men's and ladies night. Men's night and couples night will not be the same without you Geno. Rest in peace our friend.

As soon as you met Gene, you met a friend, open and real, he had the amazing ability to remember people years later & make if feel like it was yesterday. What a shock to read of his passing, so sorry to hear of your loss & may there be some comfort in the memories you have.
