Edna Mae Noel

Mae (nee Thompson) Noel passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Didsbury Hospital in Alberta surrounded by her loving family and friend.
Mae is lovingly remembered by her loving husband of 55 years, Vic (Victor) Noel; her 2 children, Darryl (Lynnel) Noel, Greg (Sheri) Noel; and 7 grandchildren.
She was born in Oliver, BC on May 27, 1947, she was the 5th child of 5 children. Mae and Vic lived throughout BC later moving to Alberta.
Mae will be remembered for her honesty, kindness and empowerment of other woman. A dedicated wife and mother, who never forgot a date, a face or the details of the many memories with friends and family. Mae had a bold sense of humour and spent her early career working for the bank since the age of 16. Later she spent time working for pharmacies in Smoky Lake and Airdrie, Alberta prior to retiring with Vic in their home in Crossfield.

I am truly sorry about the loss of such an amazing woman I got to call Auntie Mae. Even though we aren't blood related she treated our family like her own. Sorry we couldn't be there for her last days.
I am so grateful to have been able to spend Mae’s last 3 weeks with her, holding her hand and reminiscing about old times. Mae was as expected still the one to give the date, location or a name of someone in the story that nobody else could recall. Mae was a rather private person who held her family and friends close to her heart. She will be dearly missed and remembered fondly. I will miss our regular phone calls as she always made me laugh with her dry sense of humour
I can’t begin to say how special Mae was to our family. The girls thought of her and Vic as their grandparents. We called her MeMa and Vic is Me Pa. She will always be part of our family. She is missed so much. Love you Mae and Vic. Our condolences goes out to the Noel family.
