WAITING,Terence Ernest

APRIL 13, 1934 TO AUGUST 25, 2021

BELOVED FATHER, GRANDFATHER AND FRIEND

It is with great sadness that we announce on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, Terence Ernest Waiting, age 87, passed away peacefully at the Didsbury Bethany Centre.

Terence was born in York, England to Ernest and Gertrude and had two sisters, Joan and Jean. After 10 years of service in the Navy, Terence met the love of his life, Margaret and they wed in October of 1960. After adding 3 children to their family, Michael, Michelle and Andrew, they decided to embark on a new

adventure and immigrated to Quebec in 1970. 10 years passed and it was time for adventure again, so the family packed up and moved to Airdrie Alberta.

Terence became involved in his children’s sports activities and decided to organize a soccer program that is still active today.

As time went by and his children grew to adults, he became the grandfather of two beautiful girls, who are now women, Sydney and Katherine. As well as his extended family of grandchildren, Lana and Tanya, great grandchildren, Payton, Braydon, Gracie, Mason, Dillon and Lucas and great-great grandchildren, Aubree, Kenzie, Ryleigh and Finn.

Terence’s kind and gentle nature touched many people’s lives in his personal and professional life.

He will be sorely missed by all.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Didsbury Bethany for their compassion and utmost professionalism on our most difficult of days.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Society Calgary www.alzheimercalgary.ca

Messages:

I worked with Terry at PBS in Calgary in the early 1980's. He was a very nice person. My condolences to the family...

Mike, Andrew and Michelle: I am so sorry to learn about the loss of your wonderful Dad. I first met you all in 1979 or 80 when Jean took me to Pierrefonds to visit your home. I have always had a lot of admiration and affection for Terry and we looked forward to his occasional visits to Ontario. He was a man with high integrity and a great love for his family. His sense of humour was infectious and his outlook on life always positive. Although it's been a while since I last saw him, I will really miss him.
