CURRY, Jay Douglas Ross

November 30, 1993 – January 29, 2022

The family of Jay Curry are heart-broken to announce his sudden passing on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the age of 28 years.

Jay was born in Calgary, Alberta on November 30, 1993 where he lived most of his life. In his youth, he loved skateboarding and doing trick riding on his bike.

Jay was an avid snowboarder and a bit of a dare devil on the ski slopes. He was fearless and never afraid to try new things, whether he was on the ski hill, or in the water on a jet-ski or fly-boarding. He loved the mountains and lived in Canmore for a time with his dad Doug and his grandma Jean in his early adult years.

Jay was always a positive person and openly expressed his love for his family. He struggled with some demons in his life and wanted to make changes, but sadly lost his battle before that could happen. We are grateful for the time we had with him and will cherish those memories.

Jay is lovingly remembered by his father, Douglas Curry; his grandmother, Sylvia Knight; as well as many aunts and uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his mother, Michele Knight; his sister, Sydney Roboch; grandparents, Jean and Ross Curry; and grandfather, Lawrence Knight.

Goodbye hurts the most, when your story was not finished… We will miss you Jay.  You will be forever in our hearts.

A private Celebration of Jay’s Life will be held at a later date.

For those that wish, donations can be made in Jay’s memory to The Salvation Army or a charity of choice.

You were a dear brother to me for quite some time, it’s sad to see this be the end of your path, you had your ups and downs but your ups made up for the downs. Keep shining in the after life homie. It was tough to see eye to eye in the end of it but you’ll always hold a special place in my heart. A brother I never had, and a brother I could always lean on when needed. Please be at peace and find happiness being back with the ones you love. You’ll be on my mind for ever and won’t be forgotten but I hope you’re at peace my friend.
