Goddard, Gerald William (Gerry) 

June 30, 1943 - September 12, 2022.  

It is with a heavy heart the we announce the passing of a dear father, brother, uncle and friend.  Gerry was born in Calgary at the Calgary General Hospital on June 30, 1943 to Roberta and Hector Goddard. He was predeceased by both his parents and older brother, Allan Goddard. Gerry will be sorely missed by his daughter, Maria Angela (Crary) Myers; and sister, Resa (Robert) McKenzie; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.  

Gerry was a seasoned traveller and had a thirst for knowledge like no other. He was brave and thoughtful, putting his family first always. He had a passion for food and completed his education for becoming a chef at SAIT, although he decided years later that the move to becoming a vehicle mechanic was more up his alley - this led to him spending 20+ years as a heavy duty mechanic with the City of Calgary. Gerry loved spending time with friends, enjoying a glass of his favourite New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, and regaling anyone who would listen to his travel and life tales. He was very proud of his adventures seeing the world - from going on Safari in Africa, standing on The Great Wall of China, taking a months long cruise around the world to attending games in the ‘72 Russia Canada Hockey Series in Moscow.
