Ben Lorincz passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Edith Cavell Nursing Home at the age of 92 years.
Ben was a fun-loving guy who was always cracking jokes. He had the cutest sense of humor, and you never knew what he would say next! He adored his grandkids and loved schmoozing with his friends.
Everyone should have a friend like Ben! He enjoyed every moment. The love he had for Pauline shone through his eyes and his smile, even more so near the end of his life when communication was so difficult for him.
Ben was born on December 22, 1929 to David and Mary Lorincz in a stubble field in Saskatchewan.
Ben had 7 siblings. He was predeceased by his brother Joe and his sisters Irene, Pat and Helen. He will be missed by his brother, Ralph and sisters Marge and Kathy.
Ben was also preceded in death by his first wife Franny of 50 years. Together they had 4 sons and 3 daughters: Terry (Marilyn) Lorincz, David (Dianne) Lorincz, Kim (Brenda) Lorincz, Rick (Ellen) Lorincz, Wendy (D’Arcy) MacKay, Brenda (Gary) Irvine, Sheri Covey (deceased).
He was the proud grandpa of 12 and great grandpa of 11.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Pauline and her children Ryan (Susan) Blacker and Aaron (Julie) Blacker and their children Simone and Emma.
A celebration of Ben's life will be held at Fairmont Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Saturday January 15 at 11:00 am.
