Earl Norman Sanheim

Earl N. Sanheim

May 16, 1949 – Apr 28, 2022

Earl completed his life’s journey at age 72, passing in the Medicine Hat Hospital.

Born in Saskatchewan into a family of four boys and three girls, he spent his first 16 years on the family farm working alongside his dad, and credited him with teaching Earl many life lessons and skills.

Earl had many careers thru the years, Regina Sears, auxiliary RCMP in Weyburn, the EID, HSE and Smith Trucking all in Brooks. Each time it was to better himself and provide for his family. Earl was particularly proud of having served as an auxiliary member in Weyburn. Earl was also involved with St. Vincent de Paul Society in Brooks for a number of years, and was glad to be able to help others less fortunate.

Earl enjoyed many a game of cribbage with Ruth; and cheered on his sports teams, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Blue Jays and Winnipeg Jets. You’d hear about it if the games weren’t on TV!

He is survived by his siblings, Emma Wolvansky, Gord, Jeannie Giesbrecht and Ruth Close, with whom he shared a very special bond. Earl leaves behind many nieces and nephews, two of whom were close to his heart, Linda Malynyk and Lisa Waite. Earl will be deeply missed by his special and dear companion, Tracy.

Earl was predeceased by his parents, Dora and Anton (Tony); brothers, Leo and Garry; brothers-in-law, Leonard Close and John Wolvansky.

All who loved Earl will miss his humour and huge heart. Every conversation usually included a laugh and a battle of wits. He enjoyed watching old Western movies and sharing his drawings with those close to him.

A private family gathering to Celebrate Earls’ Life will take place at a future date.

In Earl’s memory, donations can be made to Alberta Lung Association, PO Box 4500, Stn South, Edmonton, AB, T6E 6K2 or a charity of one’s choice.
