ZUBOT, Isolde Rita Marie

March 20, 1935 - January 13, 2022

It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to Isolde. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in Calgary at The Foothills Medical Centre after a brief stay following a stroke in her home.

Isolde was a very proud mother and grandmother, who loved to bake, play cards with friends and spend time with her family. She and her husband Alexander were married for almost 55 years and thoroughly enjoyed their life together in Red Deer before Alex passed away in 2014. The last few years of Isolde’s life were in Airdrie, where she was close to her son Brent and his family, eventually living in a home on their property for her last year.

Isolde will be missed dearly by her 2 sons, Warren of Edmonton and Brent (Theresa) of Balzac, AB; as well as her 3 special granddaughters, Paige, Jordan and Rylee also of Balzac, AB whom she loved dearly. Isolde had a very close group of special friends, neighbours, cousins, nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She was predeceased by both of her parents, Anna and Joseph Henrich in 1969; and her brother, Sigfried Henrich in 2010; plus her loving husband, Alex in 2014.

Isolde was born in Bow City, AB and eventually moved with her family to Brooks, AB where she attended high school then moved to Calgary to attend The Holy Cross School of Nursing where she graduated as an RN in 1956. A few years later, Alex and Isolde were married in Brooks, AB and then relocated to Drayton Valley where they started their family and their business. Life eventually took them to Red Deer in 1981, where they planted their roots and made a wonderful happy life for their family.

While we will all miss Isolde dearly, we know that she is happy to be reunited with her love Alex and that they will forever be watching over us.

There will be a small private celebration of Isolde’s life at a later date this year in Brooks, AB where she and Alex will be laid to rest together.
