Marguerite Henley
April 3rd, 2021
"With great sadness and in loving memory of Marguerite Henley we announce her passing on April 3, 2021 at Laurel Place, Surrey from Multiple Myeloma. She also suffered from Alzheimer's for a number of years but fortunately it had only taken her short term memory and she was still able to remember her family up until the end.
Marguerite was the youngest of twelve children (nine brothers and two sisters) born to Dieudonné and Esther. She is survived by her husband Bob, her daughters Christine (Corrie), Julie (Brian), her granddaughter Alex (Shawn), grandson Kaeden, great-grandson Shawn (SJ), two brothers Ray (Gail) and Guy (Sandy) as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In 1964 Marguerite fulfilled her dream to become a flight attendant and travel the world while living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She worked for TCA before it became Air Canada and moved to B.C. in 1986 where she retired early in North Delta in 1994 after over 30 years service in order to spend more time with her family. Marguerite met her husband Bob in 1968 while he was stationed in Winnipeg as a Signals Officer with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. They married in 1971 and just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary under the constraints of COVID-19.
Since 2015, thanks to the care provided by her loving husband, we have been blessed to have her with us longer than we initially thought possible... But all good things must come to an end.
This beautiful woman has touched so many of us. Her kindness, humor, forgiveness and selflessness has always shone. Even in the last few moments of energy left to speak, she voiced being more concerned about our well being than her own. Telling us she is sorry, and that we should get rest.
She was a devoted member of her church and has always been grateful for her blessings and offered all her hardships to her Lord. After many years of health issues (which she never liked to acknowledge) she has suffered enough to be ready for Heaven.
Every day, we hope we all try to do what we can to emulate all the beautiful lessons she has taught us. And through these actions, her spirit will live on. She will be dearly missed.
Let us all send her loving thoughts and send her safe and peaceful passage to see her Mother Mary, parents, brothers, sisters and many other family and friends gone before.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Beth Keegan for her prayers and her assistance in helping us to make this all happen the way Marguerite would have wanted.
Funeral service was held at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Delta on Thursday, April 8, 2021 and was followed by interment at the Gardens of Gethsemani in Surrey, BC."
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
Messages:
Sincere condolences to the family and very loved ones of Marguerite. A lovely very sincere person who was a true caregiver for anyone whom she dealt with personally or while in her career with Air Canada. R I P Marguerite.
Dear old friend, Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of Marguerite. It is a shame that we did not manage in so many years to met in person with Marguerite, but thanks to your letters I know a little of her and was very pained by her passing away. Let me offer my condolences to your family. René
When I first moved to Delta in 2002, I always sat on the left side of the pews in IC Delta church for the weekday morning mass. Marguerite sat in the next set of pew alongside of me. She always gave me a smile. We never spoke much, just wished each other "Good Morning". She was a kind and sweet person. I always wondered what happened to her. May her soul rest in peace. For her husband, kids, and rest of the family find consolation in knowing she was near & dear to the Lord Jesus who never abandons us. Take courage in knowing she is in the hands of the Almighty...Peace
I often said the rosary with Marguerite and 2 other parishioners after morning Mass at IC. This was about 8 years ago when they were all healthy & well. May Marguerite Rest in Peace. A prayerful, humble and beautiful lady. God Bless, Monica O'Sullivan
I remember Marguerite for her beautiful, gentle, smile, at morning Mass. She was very devout, & I am sure the Lord has taken her up into his heavenly glory. May her soul RIP❤️
Dear Cousin Bobby and Family; We were saddened to hear of Marguerite's passing. Words fail to express our deep sorrow for your loss. It is so difficult that we live miles apart but you know I am here whenever you need someone to lean on. Our hearts go out to you and your family. God Bless..
Hi Bobby, My sincere condolences to you and your family for the loss of your wife Marguerite. I wish we didn't live so far apart.Looking forward to a conversation in the near future. Love, cousin Wayne and Lisette Paulin.
For about 2 years, and about 10 years ago, my mom and I used to pray the rosary in IC church immediately after the daily morning Mass, with Lina, Marguerite, and grandma Jean Malchinsky (now deceased). From these three holy women, for the first time in my life, I learned to pray the rosary with sincere devotion and piety. Praying with them was somehow ‘Heavenly!’. Sadly, after dear Jean died, Marguerite got quite sick and stopped attending church as frequently, and that was the end of our small rosary group. But I will always be indebted to these three for opening my eyes to the beauty of this powerful prayer. The Lord grant this beautiful gentle soul, Marguerite, eternal peace and joy. I have not doubt that Our Blessed Mother and Queen will receive her with open arms! Pray for us dear Marguerite!
Our deepest sympathy to Bob and family. Marguerite is a beautiful, humble, prayerful woman. We will surely miss her in the church. May you all find comfort in all the good memories she has left behind. She’s now your angel watching over all of you

Somehow, over the 50 years we knew each other, I truly believe I was her favorite sinner. God knows how she loved to give me a hard time and I'm sure I was in her prayers. Bob, I'll miss her wise cracks. Stay strong Bob and remember after 60 years I'm still here and still proud to call you my friend. Love, Glenn
The many words that come to mind as I remember Marguerite is “Precious”, “Sweet”, “Selfless”, “Kind”, “Loving”“Hospitable”, “Brave” and so much more! How precious is your entry into the heavenly realm, dear one! Your legacy of love lives on and will bear much fruit till we all meet again at Christ’s return! “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” Psalm 73:26
