It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shannon Margaret Smith (Dunatov), who left us on July 14, 2024, at Peace Arch Hospital in Surrey, BC. Shannon was born on October 1, 1958, in Vancouver, BC, and was the first child of Bill and Marlene Smith.  Shannon is survived by her parents, three children, Marina (Sherri), Kevin, and Nico, sister Tammy of and brothers Troy (Cathy) and Trevor (Ange).
 
Shannon's caring nature and deep compassion for others were evident throughout her life and career. She found her true calling as a Community Support Worker, where her immense love for people shone through in her dedication and service. Shannon's kindness, empathy, and unwavering support touched the lives of many, whether family, friends, or acquaintances. 

Shannon will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire us.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Royal Columbian Hospital’s Neurology Department or Peace Arch Hospital Emergency.
A memorial service for Shannon will be held on July 29th, 2024 at 10:30am at Victory Memorial Gardens.

She just had that loving and warm persona that made you so welcome in her sphere. She shared her love of her family and her work with me…. But also her love of my sister and her family….
