Edward Joseph Bard

Birdy Bard (aka Edward Joseph Bard) passed away peacefully at Abbotsford Regional Hospital with family by his side on July 20, 2011. Birdy was born in St. Boniface, MB on July 15, 1931. He moved to Vancouver, BC where he met his common law wife Janet Murphy. They had 3 beautiful children, son Birdy Jason; daughters Bambi, Robin and step-daughter Natasha as well as 3 adoring grandchildren Tanesha, Jadelyn, and Marcus. Birdy had a love for music, towing and yard work. He touched the lives of many people with his generosity and loyalty to others. A service to commemorate Birdy’s life will be held on Friday July 29 at 1:00pm at Alternatives Funeral Chapel with an interment to follow at the Hatzic Cemetery at 34867 Cemetery Road, Mission at 2:30pm. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.

Mr Bard was an awesome man who made sure when I would come up to visit he would always make sure if I needed anything he would get it and you could go and talk to him about anything he was a very loving man and father he made sure to look after you he was everyone second dad he will be forever missed
Bird will live on in our memories and stories. He was a generous kind person and will be so missed. I was lucky for him to be part of my life as I am lucky to still have Bambi, Robin and Bird. RIP Bird, till we meet again.
I very sorry for your loss guys. Your dad was a good man and I have many memories of him while Jason and I grew up together. Hope you all are doing well.

Well dad it's been 11yrs and it still hurts as if it was yesterday. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. With everything I'm going through I wish you were here to talk to. I'm proud to call you my dad!!! Till we see each other again. Cheers!!! With a beer a coffee and a water!!!
