Died peacefully on March 16th in Langley Hospice after a long and full life, rich with love from her family and friends.
Born August 19, 1930, in Edmonton, Alberta. Olive was a beautiful individual with a gentle spirit and keen mind and always impeccably dressed.
She married Ian Macdonald in
Olive played duplicate bridge for over 50 years achieving two significant milestones in the bridge world: Life Master ship in 1981 and Gold Life Master rank in August 2011. Olive continued playing up to 4 times a week well into her late 80’s.
She successfully fought breast cancer twice, more than 50 years apart and was an active volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society in
Olive was predeceased by her husband Ian in 2011 and earlier by her only sibling, Mark. Olive is survived by her son, Daryll (Cheryl) and their 2 sons Richard and Derek and 4 great granddaughters Brooklyn, Charleigh, Veronica, and Vienna, and by her daughter, Sheryl-Lynne (aka SL) and her 2 sons, Thomas (Briana) and Ryan (Katia).
Our thanks go out to the doctors, nursing staff and volunteers at Langley Hospice for their compassion and dedication. A small family Catholic mass will be held in her honour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Langley Hospice in her memory.

Olive was my friend and bridge mentor-I drove her to/from games up to 4 times/week and partnered her for almost 8 of her final years. She was a lovely lady! Win
